When we think about the forces we can apply to the user of P9 exercise system we would like to vary the stress and overtime make sure all different force applications are tolerated.
One component that is more vital than we previously thought is fluid flow. Adult humans have 60-70% water in the body.
The interactions with forces create fluid flow that then shapes us both on the outside and on the inside.
Every orgran is attached to the spine and
spine movement pumps the organs, which again tells us that movement is essential for health.
If we look at the traditional way of exercising, it creates a more local pump effect in a specific muscle, but we do not work in that way in everyday life.
So for health purposes, it would be best to have a balanced training with more ON/OFF than only ON.
In terms of volume there is thruth in we should be moving everyday.
By doing this we will get a more healthy tissue that is characterized by:

I'm in love again. In sweat, skin, endorphins and energy.
In loud music and fighting spirit.
Love to be back at work and kick off the body with lots of exercise now after a nice summer 💙 Love how good it makes you feel.
I am clearly the best version of myself when I activate the body regularly and it Give me response! The picture is after my absolute favourite workout: P.E One.
In that session, strength, explosiveness, reaction and movement in different directions are trained and challenged. @ahlinjenny you are a genius 🙏 Two things I can say about that class, 1. I ALWAYS have exercise pain the days after.
Says something about how consistently challenging the workout is for the body, regardless of training level. 2. Have never felt so consistently strong as when I did regular P.E One workouts last fall. Love to feel strong! It has and will probably always be my training goal, I train to feel strong and be able to do all the adventures I want. Ski as much as I want. Run on the mountain as much as I want. Time to go again now. Looking forward to a strong autumn 2020!

• We automatically decrease movement variability with given tasks. Performance in many sports is about stiffness in certain regions in certain tasks. If we mobilize the segment, we might hinder performance and increase risk of injury.
An example can be an old dancer or an old swimmer who have mobility but who have lost the integrity/stiffness when they stopped doing their sport.
• Our goal is to maintain, increase or decrease MV depending on the person and on the task.
• We believe that given the right exercise, the system will take care of the MV, as it is a self- regulating system.
• In changing MV verbal cues are unlikely to produce a sustained learning environment. We believe that the exercise should teach the person the optimal strategy.
• Tradition has talked about “noise” or “error of data”. But freedom and stimulus will lead to order.
• Procedos Platform 9 is designed to train MV and to let people find the optimal strategy on their own.
Procedos training represents reasoning based on science, as well as on practice.
This is necessary to explore new potential strategies for S&C. After years and years of practice in the field of S&C, we feel that there are many things that should change.
The vital component of that is PRACTICE. How to direct and organize training is therefore not only science, but a special skill which can be viewed as intuition fed by experience. In our view this is a very important part of being a good coach.
It is also one that can not be learned, but has to be experienced – a process that takes time.
Our goal with this course is to shorten this time-consuming phase and throw out the things that have not worked – not scientifically , not logically, and, in our experience, not in practice, either.
It is crucial to be led by science, experience and logical reasoning.
There are certainly a huge number of factors that play a part in training, and they influence each other in highly complex ways.
There is therefore a great need for insight into which factors are vital in a given training situation and which are not.
If we combine lunges with, for example, hand reaches we get moves that are even more functional.
Another great way to progress is to go from two points of contact to one.
This means placing all the load on one leg while decelerating the lunge.
With the Procedos Platform9 you have the easy Tasks and Targets for start position and where to go and what to do.
Sometimes Complex to explain with words what to do but with Procedos P9 its easy and you will create a great exercise with progressions and structure.
At www.procedos.com or in the Procedos App can you find tons of different exercises to create the best workout for your needs and wants.

]]>Therefore, in order for an exercise to be functional, it must have a purpose.
We will use the R3 programming to identify, categorize, then program for each client’s individual goals.
By understanding and implementing the Functional Sphere, we can assess and RESTORE motion.
Satisfy Needs
What Is It?
Imagine a giant bubble surrounding your body. Where does it end?
By using either your hand or foot, reach as far away from your body as possible in all directions.
These are the outer limits of your current functional sphere. And it is within this sphere where all functional exercise takes place.
We have an illusion of the skeletons that hangs in the classroom.
One bone on top of the other!
So we think of the skeleton as a solid frame work on which the muscel works on, - but it not that way.
- The bones float in the soft tissue. Therefore we need to think differently when it comes to movement health and training.
Building a house is based on compressional forces. The human organism is not a house since its shape is based on compression and tensional forces. Traditional strength training really heavily on compression forces, which is only one of the foundations.
Procedos P9 Exercises system rely on how the forces acting together since this is more functional and authentic.
• Compression • Tension
Since we understand the nature of that ”different” forces acting upon us in life and sports we need to train to have resilliance against these forces. Therefore Procedos P9 Exercise system take those in consideration when chosing exercises for every movement.
The different dots simulate ground drivers to create authentic movement situations. The angles simulate directional changes in exercises. These Platform 9 markers serve as external cues and have solid science behind them. External cues are proven to not only make people perform better, but they also assist users in learning movements faster. As health and fitness practitioners, we also get the opportunity to observe more natural and authentic movements from the user.
BRIDGES THE GAP
The key feature of Platform 9™ is that it bridges the gap between different occupations in the field of spatial medicine. It also bridges the gap between screening/observation and training, since these two should really be the same thing. We can now begin to observe and train our clients at the same time. As Gary Gray put it, “The test is the exercise, and the exercise is the test.” We get all the information we need to train a person well by watching her or him exercise on P9.
Using P9 means we can now establish the A for movement, so we can proceed to B, C and so on. Before even choosing any specific sport like yoga, cross-fit, soccer, bodybuilding etc., we can now provide our clients with exercises that restore and reinforce the foundation of human movement.

Andreas Vesalius (1514–1564) was an Belgian anatomist, physician, and author of one of the most influential books on human anatomy. There have not been many practical changes since Vesalius’ book came out. Yes, we have renamed muscles and found a couple of new ones, but the changes have mostly taken place on the theoretical side. The principles of thinking – how we are built, how we function – have only very recently started to change. But what has changed?
FROM STRUCTURAL TO FUNCTIONAL
Structural anatomy is a vital instrument when navigating the body, especially when it is treated as a clinical entity. But when you add movement, the situation becomes entirely different. What we know today about muscle function has completely changed our view on how the body works. We know more about things like biomechanics, fascia, and proprioceptors, which has shaped our understanding of human movement.
FORCES CHANGE THE INTERPLAY
Maybe the most vital change is our understanding of nature’s laws. Vesalius book, along with many others, tells us that sternocleidomastoideus (SCM) flexes the neck. Try standing up and looking down at the floor. Does the SCM contract? Does that influence our strategies in training? This knowledge that are one of the basis of P9 exercise system has to be captured. Our quest for understanding the human organism has only begun. We need to use both science and logic to make the right decision for each individuals needs. All exercises recomendations should be based on the needs and wants analysis.

We all want to improve movement / function with where? What is right?
How can you Use the Procedos Platform9 in your testing and create systematic ways to success?
Checklist for training success with clients
Always think of the body in 3 movement planes.
*Always trust your gut feeling and work systematic with yourself and with clients.
Create it with progressions from:
"The test is the exercise and the exercise is the test." (*Gary Grey)
]]>There is no available research on ideal MV or movement capability, so we have to use logical reasoning.
In most cases* the clients seem to find their optimal way of performing the task or exercise. As coaches, our responsibility is to observe, give cues, and create other learning opportunities.
Does MV give the user better flexibility to adapt to different environments?
Restrictions in movement can become low MV.
A stable behavior can be performed in varying ways. MR seems to increase with practice.
We need to make novel changes to an exercise if we want to increase the stable MV.
Complex movement increases the demand for self-organization.
“Promoting complex variation in human movement allows either motor development or
the recovery of function after injury. This is determined by the active engagement of the
individual within the environment.” (3)
In triple-jumpers: as performance increased, variability decreased. At expert level the
variability increased again, increasing the flexibility of the skill allowing adaptations to
other scenarios of the task. (5)
Rehab: Speeding up the re-learning of movement, not the healing process?
“Research is needed on potential benefits of differential training as an approach to physical rehabilitation and exercise prescription that could counteract psychological and physical effects of disease and illness in sub-elite populations. For example, enhancing the complexity and variability of movement patterns in exercise prescription programs might alleviate effects of depression in non-athletic populations and physical effects of repetitive strain injuries experienced by athletes in elite and developing sport programs.” – Dr. Schollhorn
“Our theoretical analysis revealed differential training as a method by which neurobiological system variability could be harnessed to facilitate health benefits of exercise training. It was observed that this approach emphasizes the importance of using individualized programs in rehabilitation and exercise, rather than group-based strategies to exercise prescription” (1)
As soon as our athletes have full control over movement, we want to modify the exercise to create an increase in MV in the specific exercise that might or might not have transfer to the sport.
In the end, creating an athlete with high controlled MV and the ability to create power and absorb forces with high controlled MV is exactly what we want to create with Procedos training system.

The role of specificity in S&C
Too much specificity will eventually create injury.
General movements create more balance in the movement system.
Athletes are not necessarily learning specific movements, they are learning the pillars of general movement literacy.
Planning the sport training itself with the S&C is vital for exercise choice.
In our training methodology we use ~20% “specific” exercises and 80% unspecific*
The role of specificity in S&C
Specificity might be a shortcut
Goal is to produce longevity AND
performance, not just performance
Specificity is complex
Variety is needed to deepen certain attractors of movement
• We do not attempt to create the same exact environment as the
sport itself, but something close enough. Sometimes structure- specificity is enough. Procedos gives the instant feedback and control for your next step in your training.
Think of slicing the movements and training them in parts.
When fatigued in one movement, we can change and create other overload stimulus.
Specificity of exercises
Exercises should aim to provide the athlete with some transfer to their sport.
Environmental monitoring: Ground, recreating situations with reactive similarities.
Proprioception: Similar sensory patterns
Intention: Similarity in intention of movement.
Intramuscular: Jumping 45 degree anterior- vertical
Intermuscular: Using glute and leg structures integrated
Outside: Similarity in joint movements
Structural-Central-Peripheral Energy
Since it is impossible to perfectly mimic the sport itself, it is a good idea to focus on one or more aspects in transfer.
Central & Peripheral
Central = Specificity, exercises very close to movement.
Peripheral = Unspecific, exercise not close to movement.
Usually separated in S&C.
Specific character of movement is important.
Movement has to be controlled and structured in the brain. There might be a limited “movement memory”. (2)
S&C with variation in overload (motor control & load) in the movement context teaches us to use certain control mechanisms which are rapid and adaptive by nature.
Central exercises are very hard to “overload” while Peripheral exercises are non-specific but easy to overload.
No exercise can combine high load with specificity, and this is not our end goal either.
We believe that a high contextual variation of movement should be used for transferability to the sport.
Match the frequency of the reality you want and you cannot help but get
that reality.
It can be no other way.

Procedos Power training does not have to be technically advanced
Our mission at Procedos is to create exercises to REINFORCE and maximize power production. Acquiring power is the ultimate goal, and the other elements are developed as part of getting power. Some of these elements are BALANCE, STABILITY, FLEXIBILITY, STRENGTH, COORDINATION, and ENDURANCE.
When designing REINFORCE exercises that demand and develop power, we have many several strategies we can use to ensure that the exercises are well-suited for the individual’s needs.
We can change the DISTANCE (IROM-MROM).
We can POSITION the feet with 50% weight distribution to make it easier.
We can change the LOAD to maintain a fast rate.
We can change the DIRECTION.
We can take advantage of the ZONE we like to work in. This is not typically done with traditional power exercises.
]]>
One of the most vital aspects of our exercises is the ability to regress them. Since many movements in our system are authentic but not often conditioned, they sometimes need to be unloaded (restored) before loaded (reinforced). In our restore exercises it is common that we use unloading strategies to get the body to move more efficiently.
When unloading the body with external support, the body tends to give us more motion. Since motion ability is the essence of all movements, it is important to understand this concept. Motion is also the key to stability,
When we have gained new motion with our restore exercises and unloading strategies, we have created an opportunity to reinforce the movement.
Unloading Considerations:
Only bodyweight
Points of contact
Weight distribution
Dowel
Bars
Walls
Does the body exhibit more motion with the restore?
Does the body ”enjoy” the movement?
Is this a movement my client can do on her/his own?
Many of the unloaded exercises can be done daily to increase the
Individuals stress response. Therefore they should be performed frequently as home exercises.
]]>Only when we understand the needs of the individual and how these correlate with the principles of nature can we develop specific, individual interventions. Through this process, the ultimate goal is to increase health, an individual FUNCTIONAL health that is unique to the individual.
This approach differs from the concept that the organism is a mechanical object, we believe in a neurobiological model - that the body is a self-regulating system.
Four primary tissues in the body
What does Fascia do?
Connective tissue is the glue that holds the body together!
Changes in recruitment of muscles lead to the potential for movement variability.
Restore Exercises are characterized by low-loading (only bodyweight or less) and slow dynamic movements. When restrictions are found, the goal is to work as close to the restriction as possible without going into the restricted angle/depth.
Work around the problem, - not in the problem.
Procedos Platform 9™ provides a framework for measurements and external cues. This makes it easy to track progress in movement ranges, perception of stretch load and so on.
It is vital to understand the individual aspect of restrictions of movements. The restrictions come in many forms – fibrous, neurological, mental and biochemical.
Each of those will change at a different rate. The key is CONSTANT INPUT in the areas we want to change.
Procedos 3 MAJOR RULES FOR RESTORE EXERCISES
The purpose with reinforce exercises is to load motion in respect to what is functional for the individual. There is evidence for movement pattern specificity, but we must also think about the general health of the body, for which the loading parameters are often unspesific.
Reinforce exercises are often characterized by a high rate and/or external load to the tissues. They are also performed directly after we have restored motion. While doing the movement, we are looking for is working without load and with speed we typically load the movement. This is when we must take in consideration what the loading mechanism itself does to the desired movement.
Duration: While working to reinforce exercises, we typically use 6-50 reps, depending on the targeted adaptaton.
Main targets with Procedos P9 exercises REINFORCE
Eccentric demands (increase tolerance of rapid stretch loads)
Dynamic Stabilization
Elasticity
Maximal Rate of Force Development
= Power
With respect to the individual WANTS & NEEDS, we can also apply other strategies:
Concentric focus
Static Stabilization
Maximal TUT
= Other adaptations

The platform serves as a foundation for movement variables. This includes length, width and angles. Since every functional movement has an angle, as well as vertical and horizontal displacement, we want to mimic those variables. Functional movements are not typically performed twice or more in the exact same manner, not in life or in sports.
On the P9 we can choose what type of movements we want to execute. By, for example, using the different dots (numbers) on P9, we can create a movement variable that changes with each repetition. The change can take place through altering movement length, width and/or angle.
This creates not only different motor-learning aspects and proprioception, but it also spreads out the mechanical stress placed upon the tissues. The main benefits of the P9 exercise system from the user perspective are that it creates movement variability, gives external cues, provides an observation system, makes training fun and game-like, and gives each user great results – simple!
We here at Procedos believe the research which says that the human movement system is integrated. Therefore we also believe that this is how our bodies should be trained. This does not exclude training local movements where more stress is placed on one segment – in most movements there are some parts that handle more stress than others. But even these movements are almost always integrated.
PROCEDOS MOVEMENT TRAINING
Training in all planes of motion is nothing new. However, the simple practical implementation has been lost along the way. 3D training is not only doing lunges anterior, lateral and rotational, instead of the more traditional, more common stationary or back-and-forth way. 3D means activating the entire body and using muscle integration for all movements. The P9 system makes 3D training easy enough for anyone to follow, guaranteeing a great workout.

SAID Prinzip = Specific Adaptation to Imposed Demands
TrainerInnen waren sofort begeistert.
