We now know that there are 2,196 ways to move a joint there are reason to move the joint throughout all the motions. Some motions are more common and therefore more needed than others, but this does not mean we should neglect the lesser used ones. If we do not use the movements the human movement system was created for, we will lose those movements. This means we should train specifics, but not to the extent of overuse. There has to be a balance between specifics and non-specifics to create optimal health.
